Here is a live performance from the spring of 2011 of me and Tania Stavreva performing my piece for piano and electronics “Moon, Tides, Cycles.” The piece developed out of the score for a dance piece that I had never intended to perform live. Ultimately, I had to devise a way to perform the electronics which mirror what the piano is doing. I set up microphone on the piano and plugged it through my Macbook Pro, processing the sound using Apple Mainstage and a few software plugins from Native Instruments. In this video I’m using an M Audio Axiom keyboard controller to control aspects of the sound effects during the piece.
